So fresh,
so clean

A boutique show home in a Grade II listed London landmark, SW1
So Fresh, So Clean was the flagship boutique show home within Westminster Fire Station, an award-winning Grade II listed restoration and contemporary new build in Victoria, London SW1.
As Creative Director, Studio L London shaped the development’s old-meets-new vision and designed an apartment with immediate impact. Inspired by André 3000’s iconic sartorial style and the energy of Outkast’s “So Fresh, So Clean”, the interior translates music, fashion and attitude into a memorable boutique-hotel home that was unlike anything in the London residential market.
-
The concept began in the studio with two Phillip Jeffries wallpapers — a playful stripe and a cheery citrine Manila hemp — alongside a green-and-white Brunschwig & Fils faux bois textile, all chosen for their exuberant visual chemistry.
As the design developed, Outkast’s “So Fresh, So Clean” was playing in the studio, and the idea suddenly clicked: what if André 3000’s fearless, dandyish sartorial style became a whole-home interior?
Layered with Wes Anderson-style whimsy and a Kindercore colour palette, the design came to life through bespoke joinery, bold pattern and joyful material choices. The result is playful, considered and unmistakably Studio L London.
“Laura’s mastery of style and colour techniques is nothing short of brilliant.
I love the colours! they’re almost outrageous and they shouldn’t work and yet they do!”
