COMFORTABLY CHIC

“Moodboosting Interiors”
A joyful interior decor for a Grade II listed Victorian townhouse in Notting Hill, W2.
Studio L was commissioned to create a full-service interior decor project for a dynamic family home overlooking a garden square on the border of Notting Hill and Westbourne Grove. The brief was to transform the 3,400 sq ft townhouse into a colourful, comfortable and highly practical home for a couple, their toddler and visiting teenage children.
Inspired by the client’s vibrant artwork by contemporary artist Kindah Khalidy, we developed a layered colour story around their favourite tones: teal, yellow, purple and blue. The result is boutique-hotel inspired, with the warmth and resilience required for real family life.

Over 70% of the furniture was custom-designed, including a hot pink sectional sofa pit in Pierre Frey velvet and a white family-proof sofa upholstered in performance fabric. Studio L also designed flexible live-work areas, children’s zones, bespoke soft furnishings.
The finished home is playful, polished and deeply personal: a colourful London townhouse where comfort, durability and one-of-a-kind interior decor work together.
“Laura teased out our bolder side. Our family motto is ‘life is not a dress rehearsal’ and a lot of our choices were made with that in mind. We’re so glad we didn’t take the safe options. Bright, cheerful and joyful by design....it definitely gives me comfort and a sense of fortitude.”
