“mood boosting interiors”
A three-storey Listed Townhome gets a joyful interior decor, W2
A full-service interior decor project for a dynamic family in their Grade II listed Victorian townhouse, overlooking a garden square on the border of London’s Westbourne Grove and Notting Hill. The commission was to transform this 3,400 sq ft home into a vibrant, personalised sanctuary for a couple, their toddler, and visiting teenage children—a space equally suited to calm family life and generous entertaining for their international circle.
Guided by Coco Chanel’s axiom that “luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury,” the vision was a colourful, one-of-a-kind interior with a boutique-hotel sensibility: energising yet calm, deeply personal yet highly durable. The creative catalyst was a major artwork by contemporary artist Khinda Khalidy, whose vibrant palette of teal, yellow, purple, and blue inspired the home’s entire colour story.

Our response was intensely bespoke, blending bold creativity with rigorous practicality. Over 70% of the furniture was custom-designed, including a hot pink sectional sofa pit covered in a Pierre Frey velvet, that doubles as an ample guest bed, and a sleek, family-proof white sofa upholstered in a Perrennia’s performance fabric—a choice vindicated when it effortlessly withstood a toddler’s creative reinterpretation of a blusher as a crayon!
We engineered clever, multi-functional zones throughout—from a dedicated children’s dining and art station to adaptable live-work areas—ensuring the home transitions seamlessly from toddler playdates to extended family visits.
The result is a home that is discerningly curated to be elegant and playful plus intelligent: a layered, expressive interior where true luxury is defined by comfort, resilience, and a profound sense of personal fit.
“bright, cheerful and joyful by design, and I’m especially glad now of some of the colourful choices that we made. It definitely gives me a sense of comfort and fortitude.”
